VeThor Token (VTHO) is the gas token of VeChainThor, a public Layer-1 blockchain designed for real-world enterprise and consumer applications. The network uses a dual-token economic model that assigns distinct roles to VET and VTHO. VET serves as the native asset and staking collateral, while VTHO is designated for transaction fees, smart-contract execution, and other onchain operations. This structure separates network-operation functions within the protocol’s token design. Under the post-Hayabusa model, VTHO is issued through block rewards to validators and delegators who stake VET and contribute to network security, rather than being generated passively solely by holding VET. VTHO has no fixed maximum supply. Its supply design combines dynamic issuance with the burning of VTHO used as transaction base fees. VeThor is associated with the VeChain ecosystem and the smart contract platform and Layer-1 categories.
