Theta Fuel (TFUEL) is the operational token of the Theta protocol. It is designed to power on-chain operations, including payments to relayers that share video streams and actions involving smart contracts, such as deploying or interacting with them. Within the protocol’s stated model, relayers earn TFUEL for each video stream they relay to other users on the network. This positions TFUEL as the protocol’s gas token, supporting transaction and service-related activity across a smart-contract platform and decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN). The profile also associates the project with artificial intelligence, proof-of-stake (PoS), and the United States. At Mainnet launch on March 15th, TFUEL will be created as a native token on the Theta blockchain. In summary, TFUEL is intended to coordinate payments for video relaying and provide the token used for protocol operations and smart-contract interactions.
