Tellor Tributes (TRB) is the token associated with Tellor, an oracle system designed to help Ethereum smart contracts access off-chain information. Because smart contracts are self-contained, Tellor allows parties to request values for data points such as ETH/USD, while miners compete to submit those values to an on-chain data bank. The Tellor smart contract organizes requested data into time series intended for access by Ethereum smart contracts and for use as a source of data for decentralized applications. Inputs to each data series are described as being secured through a network of staked miners. Tributes are used to request particular data series from miners and are issued through Tellor’s incentive mechanism.
