What is Reserve Rights?

Reserve Rights (RSR) is an ERC-20 token designed for the Reserve protocol, where it supports Reserve stablecoins known as RTokens. RSR has two stated roles: it can be staked to provide overcollateralization and first-loss capital for RTokens, and it enables governance through proposals and voting on RToken configuration changes. RSR holders may stake on one RToken or distribute their stake across multiple RTokens. In the protocol’s model, stakers may receive a portion of revenue generated by the RToken they support. Reserve describes RTokens as stablecoins backed by baskets of crypto assets managed by smart contracts, with baskets potentially consisting of ERC-20 assets and, over time, other asset types. The project was co-founded by Nevin Freeman and Matt Elder. Its stated broader goal is an open, scalable stablecoin platform, and its listed categories include DeFi, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, and real-world assets.
