Chainlink is a decentralized oracle network that supplies blockchain applications with external information and cross-chain services. Its nodes gather and combine data before delivering results to smart contracts, allowing those contracts to use information blockchains cannot obtain independently. LINK is the native token used to pay node operators, fund service accounts, and support security through staking. Staked collateral can be at risk when inaccurate data is provided. Chainlink provides data feeds, automation, cross-chain messaging, and reserve verification across decentralized finance and other blockchain systems. It is distinct because it operates as shared infrastructure rather than as a single end-user application. Its broad integrations and service range give LINK a role connected to the reliability and expansion of blockchain-based applications.
