BNB is the native token of the BNB Chain ecosystem and is also integrated with exchange-related services. It pays transaction and smart-contract fees, supports staking and governance, and can provide fee benefits on the Binance exchange. BNB Chain uses a Proof of Staked Authority model with a limited validator set. Automated burns remove some BNB from circulation through network fees and scheduled purchases. The token’s distinctive feature is the close connection between blockchain utility, exchange services, and a large centralized operator. That relationship supports a substantial user base, on-chain activity, and liquidity. It also means BNB differs from more neutral base-layer assets: its usefulness, control structure, and risk profile are closely linked to the exchange ecosystem that surrounds it.
